Hello mark. 23 Sep 04 14:02, you wrote to Michael Grant: ml|> and ONLY applies to FIDOTECH used within fidonet... the DNS stuff is ml|> outside fidonet... fidonet does not control it or have any say over ml|> it... unless things change in that respect, that's the way it is going ml|> to always be, too... I disagree. There is a grey area there that everybody is ignoring. If you use the internet for tranfering mail, then you are including the internet as part of fidonet. If you do not wish to be bound by policy when using the internet then perhaps you should use POTS? I think that anyone using the internet in this fashion should expect to also abide by policy while using the internet between fidonet members or relating to fidonet members. There is room for understanding that shared technologies are being used and there should be some overlap involved with policy. If that were not true, then you could do nothing if you annoyed me in FidoNet and I got revenge using the Internet. You would have no recourse within FidoNet. Good luck trying outside of fidonet. It was expected when one used POTS to tranfer mail, why not when using IP to transfer mail?
