Hi All,
I'm running a Token Ring LAN and tried to add a new P450 system, based on a
Biostar M3VBE motherboard with an IBM ISA Shared RAM Token Ring card, running
Warp 4 FP10. I ran MPTS, selected the proper adapter and NETBIOS protocol.
After restart of the system the IBMTOK.OS2 driver fails to initialize (message
LT20022 accompanied with a LT20025 msg reporting a configuration error in
Protocol.Ini and a SYS1201 msg 'driver not installed'). I assume the last 2
msgs are the result of the driver initialisation failure. Even with a
Protocol.Ini copied from a working system (P133 with the same TR adapter)
under Warp 4 I get the same messages.
I tried many different DIP-switch settings of the TR card, switched IRQ and
memory- and I/O-addresses, assigned the IRQ to Legacy in BIOS setup, etc.
etc., but always got the init failure of the driver (or a system hang!).
Surprisingly after install of network support under W98 the system runs
flawlessly, no networking problems at all. Sharing and using resources with
other systems works fine. So I assume the problem is not the card(-setup), nor
the motherboard(-setup), nor the LAN(-wiring). But since also the SW-setup is
the same as on a working P133 I'm running out of ideas where to look further.
What could be the reason of the problem, and what more can I do to find the
cause and hopefully solve it?
