RKBands or Citizens Bands) in PACKET, PACTOR, G-TOR or CLOVER??? I am
RKhopeing that you have copied commercial or military stations anywhere
RKin the world???
RK I think as a reward for this info I might be able to provide you
RKwith a really nice color world map which I know you will enjoy. I was
RKgiven one by this digital radio company I am going to be working with
RKsoon and I will try to see if I can get some of you these maps also. I
RKcan not promise one for sure but believe it should not be a problem to
RKget you one for the info
Reid I have found quite a few commercial stations running Pactor in the
8mhz region. Also some in the 16mhz and 17mhz range. Some are clearly
maritime as evident by their traffic.
Christmas Eve a freighter was sending a seemingly endless string of holiday
messages to Rio on 8734 khz Pactor. High speed at that. Very strong signal.
I didn't make a hard copy so I don't recall the ID. I never did hear an ID
from the shore station....I am of the opinion from the traffic between the
greetings this was a station operated by the shipping firm, not a regular
coastal station.
Military communications with Pactor have been heard in the 13mhz range around
13.443. These are in open English. Signals are very weak and without my
DSP 59+ filter I wouldn't be able to pull them through. The text is the
sual
circuit checks/etc.
Only commercial Gtor I have encountered was on 2294.5 and it was in French.
Have no idea who or what....except could tell there were lists of what
appeared
to be part numbers with prices in francs. Rather strong at one end so would
guess from band conditions it was coming out of South America.
Heard some Clover traffic but think it was AF MARS...unauthorized...with a
couple of guys just checking out their new boards.
That's a few. Do I win a map? Hi!
73, de K0JPJ ex-W5PVX ...-.-
PS: Was monitoring some German hams the other night that have the new Pactor
II....when they switched over to it from regular Pactor I was unable to copy
in any mode at this end! So guess another goodie to want.
