Hi All,
I am running OS/2 2.1 and have a modem on Com1 and Com2 and a mouse on
Com3. I am running SIO and have the following SIO commands in config.sys
DEVICE=C:\SIO\SIO.SYS (COM1:38400,3F8,4,-,F) (COM2:38400,2F8,3,-,F)
(COM4:38400
,2E8,9,-,F)
DEVICE=C:\SIO\VSIO.SYS
DEVICE=C:\SIO\VX00.SYS
also mouse commands....
DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VMOUSE.SYS
DEVICE=C:\OS2\POINTDD.SYS
DEVICE=C:\OS2\MOUSE.SYS SERIAL=COM3
well the problem is when the power goes off ,no UPS :-(
and the machine fires up when it comes back on, when trying to load the
SIO drivers it says com1 is in use, this then locks up the system with an
error
message about the com port violation.
If I warm boot the next time it can be ok, sometimes not but after a few
warm boots it works ok.
I'll probably end up using the PS/2 mouse port but I'd like to know why it
boots up this way and a way to reserve com3 for the mouse.
Thanks
