Ouch! Thats sounds bitter. Standing fireguard in thos conditions oculd be a 
bear too. Looks like the afternoon thunderstorm is about to hit. All day I 
have tried to remove the old hood release cable from by chev and no luck so I 
put back together what I had removed. It has a large moulded-on grommet at 
the firewall that I couldn't get pulled out. Replacement has a different type 
grommet and smaller too. I'll let the Chev dealer worrry with it.
