Has anoyone out there used Deputy Producer?
I recently had to assemble a 486 computer using three cards comprising what
is called the AVer Pro bundle. This group of cards contains a Video adaptor
(SVGA) that drives a computer monitor as well as and NTSC monitor, a live
source video window card that allows computer generated graphics to be
supered over video, and a mix/fader card that allows fading between VGA and
video.
I think the entire setup is like three grand, including hardware and
software, but I'll have to check that price. Anyway, it also comes with a
character generator software pakage (Deputy CG). It is currently being used
by two local TV stations, and really is clean.
Should Chyron be worried? Could be. It'll be a couple years, but I think we
will soon see computer plug-in expansion boards that will match the
capabilities of hig-priced character generators. What do you think?
