WP *does* have an individual way of doing things, doesn't it?
On your local BBSs, check the graphics utilities section of CDROMS for 
Graphic Workshop.  Both DOS and Win versions are around.  IIRC, you can 
convert most image files to .wpg files without problems.  It's a little 
more work to roll your own, but it means that you can choose from any
of the image formats you can convert from  :)

index file--there are several conversion utilities.
Oh.  If you want to support your local computer store, there are
commercial programs that'll do the same thing, but that you don't get
to try before buying.
