Replying to a message from Daryl Stout 1:382/33 to ARDITH HINTON, About A Humble Request, On Mon Jan 01 2007 DS> room. He is home now, but hasn't had many "good days" since they DS> discovered the cancer. Cancer can be fought, I know of many cases, but lets deal with who is known here: Nora as a toddler was diagnosed with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia she is now about 19 and going strong, treatment was some kind of ride for her. Ryan my grandson diagnosed at 9mo with Acute Mylogenious Leukemia, if he does not annoy me too much in September he will be 13, his ride was a doozy as well. Now for some one older, my grandmother, she died in 1993 at 83 she was diagnosed with leukemia at 20 fought it and won, breast cancer at 40 same deal fought it and won, but cancer finally got her, she had major upper bowel cancer as well as major from her neck to her waist, internally. But she fought it every inch of the way. My Dad, at 73 diagnosed with prostate, fought it and won, next was colo-rectal fought it and won, next was lung and liver, fought it and won. So far he is still alive and as cranky as ever. Try and be as positive as you can with your dad, and you never know he MIGHT get a couple more years. The commonalty with all these people is their positive attitude, and having good positive people around them. Hope this helps. Keep us posted. We are a fine board trying to make it better. http://www.pris.bc.ca/ghannah ghannah{at}pris.bc.ca Cheers!
