I've been working with Miss PATTI almost everyday this week ....... she's
not fighting against me and is actually working WITH me now!!
    I finally saddled her up this afternoon and worked her in the round pen 
with her all tacked up.  I'm not quite ready to ride her yet but it won't be 
too long before I think that we'll BOTH be ready for that.
    PATTI has been calm and quiet ..... she's acting more and more like 
"Baby" did and we're really starting to bond nicely together -- I ask her to 
walk or trot or lope and she does it (sometimes with a couple of "snorts" but 
she does what I've requested her to do -- "Baby" used to 'snort' while we 
worked from time to time too).  I say "HO", and she stops like she's suppose 
to.
    She stood perfectly still while I tacked her up this afternoon (like X 
does for me) ...... even put her head down nicely for me to slip her bridle 
on her ...... I think "Miss PATTI" might turn into a right nice horse after 
all!!
    PATTI is a BIG horse (like "Baby" was).  She now stands a little over 
16.1 hands tall and probably weighs in at very close to 1300 pounds.  She's a 
very intellegent animal and really very willing to please ..... she loves to 
be told she's a "good girl" (and I DO tell her that when she's doing a good 
job for me).
    You saw what she looked like in the video I sent you -- she definately is 
a beauty for sure.  BUT, she's sure hard to keep clean .
    I think what's happening is that she is comfortable with me ...... and 
'm
comfortable with her now .... and when we started working TOGETHER, it all 
started coming together for us.  We'll just see what happens.  I don't think 
she'll ever be too good with strangers ...... but you never can tell.
