i don't think you are too far wrong there, as well as cultural differences.

The white man introduced booze to the natives in North America, and took
advantage of the natives weakness to booze left right and center, all I got
to do is wander around any community in "south north" or any
place in Western Canada and the evidence is very glaring to see the affects
of whites taking advantage of the natives weakness to booze.

If one went to Europe where booze, is acceptable and consumed by the
majority on a daily basis, with no ill affect, (except a percentage that
are full blown alky's), the people have developed a metabolism that will
handle booze better than some.

I guess my perception is a tad jaded, after all the AA meetings I have
attended across Western Canada I see more whites than natives, in most
cases no natives period.  If one were to look at it that way one could say
that there is no booze problem with the natives when in fact we know
different.
