   I've heard Bearcat was pressured even then to delete that feature in later 
scanners. Certainly my Bearcat 250 didn't have it. Interestingly it tended to 
dissuade mobile phone listening if you didn't have it. But that constant 
modulated carrier did add to intermod problems....
