This is becoming less and less true. Additionally the 'transportation' of
'wild' caught fish is getting more and more advanced such that fewer
and fewer fish are lost in transport.
And most tetras are being 'captive' bred these days. The neon is probably
the most difficult but even these are being captive bred in the far east.
We have a long way to go but we are advancing a long way from the metal
'milk' cans of the 50's and 60's. Far too many fish are lost but more and
more this is not from the shipping ends. After all a dead fish means no
profit at all.
