Replying to a message of bob klahn to BOB ACKLEY: WS>>> I might even start up a board sometime down the road. BA>> It's certainly possible. This system is running on a BA>> 486/66. bk> I guess my 486 DX/100 is overpowered. The SCSI HD in the box died last Sunday morning (C: drive). While I have a house full of computers it took me until about an hour and a half ago to get one up and running. The 'new' box is a Compaq Deskpro that somebody threw in the trash (I literally got it out of a scrap metal yard) because it wouldn't power up. The power button on the front of the machine died, that's all that was wrong with it - and I replaced it with a power button I'd salvaged out of an old Gateway box, it ain't pretty but it works just fine. PIII/256MB of RAM and a 10GB HD (with Windows 2000 Professional installed). I pulled the 10GB HD out and replaced it with a couple of smaller ones I had in stock. I may find a use for W2K Pro some day and don't want to have to BUY it. It's just a wee bit faster than the old box... --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 11/200 331 14/400 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 222/2 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/1 306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 320/119 393/68 396/45 633/104 260 267 285 690/734 712/848 SEEN-BY: 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 105 109 200 5030/1256 @PATH: 2905/3 116/901 3634/12 123/500 261/38 633/260 267 |
