RD>>> I just got this mess cleaned up from a viral infuction picked up from

II> CANNOT afford a virus on either of my systems!
It was a demo of a 3d space flight sim a friend got from a local company.
It was garbage as the exe files were all infected and so infected my system.
So far as we have been able to figure it is the system the game was written
on that had the critter in it to start with or the system used to burn the
CDROM.
Rather suspect the burner system as the discs were home-made,not
professional silver colored mastered.
Rather stupid of someone NOT to scan a system they were writing software on
or burning CDROMs from.
They have since stopped giving the demos away.
Smart move on their part as it could have cost them a bit in terms of bad
ep
for software.
I now load any suspect stuff into a backup system so it can be checked
before I let it near this one I'm on now.
Once restoring this mess was enough. (5 gigs worth of stuff! )
