I don't know really, I haven't used Access that much. From a quick look I
quess it's the "Memo" field that could hold binary data as well.

No I think it should work in Access as well (it's actually quite a beast
for a db, under the covers), but could be that the Acces UI is somewhat
limited in this regard - maybe it requires you to use ADO or ODBC (or
whatever it is called this week ) to access the Blob field.
