Much simpler than that. Take two machines for each AV program, install W2K
on one with no service packs and no patches. Install XP on the other again
no service packs no patches. Get on the internet unfirewalled. Come back an
hour later and run your tests.

Setup unfiltered email, have it forwarded to an email account on each
machine for a day, run all attachments.

Do tests again.

Without the initial install times the tests could easily be done in a day.
