Replying to a message from andrew clarke 3:633/267 to mark lewis, About autopacking, On Mon Feb 17 2003 ac>> message base with 20,000 messages in it, it could take a while ac>> to save just a single message. Which would be a big ac>> performance hit for a mail tosser importing lots of messages, ac>> which is ideally when you really want autopacking to work. ac> Even on a fast system, do you know how long it takes to pack a JAM ac> base of 20,000 messages? Now do this each time you want to save a ac> message to the base. This is what you're suggesting. If you were to try out Termail which is either JAM or .msg and the autopacking is called in the .cfg file it does not take any longer to pack than it does squish with the following: Squishp in out squash link -fechotoss.log, this is part of my mail.cmd If you can do a search for Gerard J. van der Land the author of TMUTILS he might be able to help out with the JAM support. Hope this helps. Keep us posted. We are a fine board trying to make it better. http://www.pris.bc.ca/ghannah ghannah{at}pris.bc.ca Cheers!
