subject: CD`s saving pictures..

It occurred to me as I solved the problem of the PS2 game disk that
wouldn't read by washing a kids small sugary finger spot off the disk,
that these things have a dye base whose color is changed by exposing
them to a bright light. If a sugar spot small enough to be almost
invisible to the naked eye can change the color of or deflect the
laser beam enough to cause it to read an error. Then I believe
maybe the long term storage of the CD's containing all you latest
and greatest digital pictures should probably be in a dark place,
and leaving them laying about where the sun could shine on them a
 sure path to their destruction..
