Unless your TNC is "AT Command Compatable" of which I
know of NONE of them being - the TNC is NOT going to
have ANY idea what you are telling it to do.
Phone Modems (with the built in "AT" command interpreter)
are a COMPLETELY different animal (aside from using a ComPort
address like the TNC) and anything other than just a 'carriage
return' (ASCII-13) [in order to bring up the TNC "Cmd:" prompt]
and perhaps a 'line feed' (ASCII-10) is utterly useless,
and confusing to the ROM in the TNC.
WHY would someone want to adjust the volume of the monitor
spkr (L1) and have the speaker "monitor" until a carrier is
detected (M1) ?!? Not to mention the "X4" having to do with
detection of a dialtone and other DTMF dialing parameters.
Also... Wouldn't the PACKET echo be better suited to this
topic of discussion ???
