Had you said that to me back in the NT 3.5 days I would have said it was
worth the cost. In fact I moved the company to 3.5 and we paid the costs
and I proved they were justified.

 But with Vista, I just don't see anything to justify it. Ok, a few features
sound nice but they are things you use rarely (like shrinking a partition)
and/or can easily live without. They are also easily counterbalanced with
activation/copyprotection/drm features that do nothing but increase costs
via more restrictive licensing terms and added maintenance costs.

I don't see a problem with buying high end desktops today, in fact I just
ordered some to run W2K. Remember the $1100 no OS quote I posted?
