We are incredibly fortunate in California to have as our State Chair
Kirk MacKenzie (he even gave up his business for a year to devote to
us). With his spearheading, we have made two major giant steps forward
as an organization; 1) we're putting a "Can't Vote, Can't Spend"
(covering all elected positions in California) initiative on the
ballot and 2) Beginning Jan. l, state government information must be
made available in an easily accessible form, free of charge to all
constituents...perfect for fidonet echo California Politics. I've
passed along this information to our local sysop, Paul Adams, and he is
totally expert enough to set it up. Also, many of the Chapters stay in
close contact with their Congress person...I'm lucky that I am in
Duncan Hunter's District...but many of the other San Diego Districts
have done lots of picketing and meeting with their Congress person.
We recently had four vacant seats on the City Council and all contenders
were put in contact with the UWSA rep in their area...for get acquainted
purposes...Some of the groups are also involved in the local Toy Drive.

Happy Holidays to All!!
