Uhm, any movement is relative I think. :-)
The Earth speeds around the sun, so we, because we are on her surface,
move along with it. But not relative to the planet itself, unless we
walk, or drive, or swim, or fly, or whatever, in which case we change
our relative position on her surface. Only when we rocket away from
Earth, to another orbit or outside Earth's influence all together, we
would move independently.
If we tried to reach a star that due to the expansion of space /seems/
to be moving further away from us at a speed greater than the speed of
light, we would still move relative to the position where we started
from. As for actually reaching that star, I'd say forget it. Unless we
could really build a Warp Drive, or create some kind of Wormhole thingy.
Things that fall under the heading of SF, or at least really wild
speculation.

But maybe there are people in this group that are actual scientists that
can explain it better.
I only read up on stuff once in while, and hope to understand and
remember it correctly. :-)
