Neither Stalin nor Beria personally pulled the trigger of the pistols used to
murder the Poles in the woods of Katyn. But Hitler also never personally killed
anyone in WWII. Is there really a difference?

The Poles were intellecutals, educated peoplele and the cream of Polish
civilation. And the purpose was to destroy polish civilazation except for the
lowest levels, who could still be used as slaves. Nothing else than the Nazis
intended. The only difference was that Goebbels - for the first and perhaps
only time - told the truth (that the Russians had murdered the best of Polish
intelligence) - but had lied so much before that nobody believed him. He even
invited international observers. But he had lied too much beforte, and thus was
not believed.

The originator was Beria, who originally made the suggestion. Stalin merely
approved the suggestion with his usual initials. Then the murders proceeded.
The Poles haven't forgotten. The Russians (includinding you) apparently have.

Ask any Pole about Katyn.
