long you are immune, I'm still fighting with stupid things like I can't =
use windows update unless the fucking automatic update service is set to =
automatic startup, even manual startup and started isn't enough. Why is =
that Rich? Why is the service running simply not enough but instead it =
has to be set to autostart before I'm allowed to use WU? Doesn't =
microsoft believe I'm intelligent enough to manage my own damn = computers?

I find this in W2K, Windows XP drips with this attitude, Vista takes it =
to a whole new level.

     Speaking for myself, I use computers for what often feels more than =
24 hours a day.  Daily I use Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows =
Vista, and Windows Server "Longhorn".  For the server products I
change = the UI to match the client UI, the opposite of what you seem to
think = those in the know would do.  I don't experience any of the
confusion you = claim to feel when using the computer.
