If you are using older systems without the new features:
You might need a way to save space. Use a batch file to
zip and unzip. My kids quickly learned to use my "open" batch.
You can also add comments so they know what is happening
at each step. If you want them to learn what programming
is all about, let them edit and personalize a batch file.
BTW, No need for them to know how to 'format'. (Unless you want
to teach them what commands to avoid.)
RM> The rest looks real impressive (and LONG ).......
From what I've seen, 6th graders are quite capable and have
had more exposure to computers than most of their older siblings.
They easily pick up a CDROM form the front desk of the library
and find what they need without much help.
