I suggest a .22 cal. R1, or if you can afford it (and can deal with scuba
tanks
or a handpump), a Career 707 in .22. The .177 is not as reliable at knocking
game down as the .22, and the .25 is not as accurate. Fifty yards is a bit
extreme for squirrels, so unless you can hit a quarter everytime at that
distance
and,or anything in between just judging the distance by eye, sneak up closer
(I
also think a rangefinder is a great idea). ld
