Same here, I think. My pride gets in the way of a lot of things I would
really like to do. I say I can't get to meetings, but the truth really is
that I don't like what I see there, and I'm afraid.

They are very helpful here. If you have a question or a worry, just say it
and someone will write back and help you. Usually people say what happened to
them in similar circumstances (position/state/mindset). But they don't very
often tell you what to do... just what they did.

There are not a lot of AA meetings here (sparse means not many, or few, or
scattered). The meetings that do exist are like closed clubs... the English
word (if you can look it up in a Swedish/English dictionary or phrase book)
is 'clique' (insular means closed up, or outsiders not accepted, or a set way
of doing things).
Hope that is a bit clearer???

Two boys here. Philip is 13 and Jamie is just 12. They are a year apart in
(the same) high school and great rivals. Hurricane here, rather than tornado.
It's hard to keep calm and serene while all hell breaks loose all around.
Philip has become sullen recently (sulky/grunting/disobedient). Is Sara the
same?

It's not too bad at all! I wish I could speak another language as well as you
do.

Labouring? Like digging, building, gradening etc?

What have you been studying/learning?
I have just done two years at college (high school +) as a mature student
(grown up person) learning about computers and different programming
languages. My classmates were about 18 or 19 years old. I'm old enough to be
their mother! ;-)
PW> Me? I'm a freelance
PW>> writer/journalist/programmer.
JT> I like that thing about programing, in witch laungwich??
Which language? Well lots of different ones. Pascal, Visual Basic, C, SQL
which were fun... and COBOL which is a PAIN!
PW>> And very boringly an ex-accountant! ;-)
JT> ??????????????????????????????????! eeeeh what is
JT> that?.
Making up the books and ledgers to show the financial (money) state of a
business. Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets. Believe me, it is very, very
boring. I used to work all day, then study at night with several cans of beer
to relax me to allow me to sleep.
Please talk again. We can use netmail or e-mail if you prefer?
I hope my English is more simple for you now, and that you can understand me
better. If not, please say so! :-)
