Hey Markus!
MR> Yes, fidonet standards might be not the same as the ones used
MR> somewhere else.
How about NOWHERE else since dropping the '+' character is verboten where it
applies. It definetly falls under the 'data corruption' category as it is
currently written and practiced by certain broken software that buys into this
currently published format. Any serious programmer ought to question that
particular behavior.
MR> It's like kilobyte and kibibyte. The SI unit for
MR> 1000 bytes is 1 kilobyte and for 1024 bytes it's 1 kibibyte.
Bad example in the case of acceptable practices for utc offsets as by ALL
published standards that pertain to utc offsets. Please point out any credible
reference that states that it is okay to drop the '+' character please.
MR> Sorry, non-smoker ;)
Maybe you need to take it up?
From what lame excuses I've seen coming from FTSC membership on these issues
and their stated 'job description', then perhaps smoking something suitable
might be a solution to their obvious handicap. ;-)
Life is good,
Maurice
