How old is the flash code in your modem? IIRC, HST Cellular
disappeared with the implementation of X2. There wasn't room in the
Courier's memory for everything, and USR sacrificed HST Cellular to make
room for X2.
In any event, it appears to vary with the age and capabilities of the
modem's SDL. The manual for my Courier (purchased in January, 1995, lists
the following in the &Fn section:
"Note, however, that &F0 is always loaded into
memory if DIP switch 10 is ON.
&F0 Load No Flow Control template settings
&F1 Load Hardware Flow Control template settings (Default)
&F2 Load Software Flow Control template settings
&F3 Load HST Cellular template settings"
With the currently installed v.90 SDL, my Courier reports:
HELP, Ampersand Commands
&Fn n=0 Load Factory Configuration
n=1 Hardware Flow Control Cnfg.
n=2 Software Flow Control Cnfg.
Between the manual and the modem, both Bill's value for &F0 and yours
are confirmed. :-)
