Only way to put a DIN sized unit in the stock location is to cut/modify the
dash to accept it. I know from experience, I have a '68 that I went ahead and
modified to fit a JVC cd unit. Also installed a pair of 10" subs in the rear
package area and a nice set of Alpine seperates up front. It rocks well now!
Your only other options would be:
1 Build a custom consol under the dash and install the cd unit in that.
2 Install the unit were the glove box is now.
3 Go with the tape/cd changer setup
4 Get one of the changer that has its own control panel. The changer unit
mounts wherever you choose and the control panel can be velcroed to the
dash or sun visor in a convient location.
