No doubt they created the chemical process in such a way so as to wear
out!
I don't think you need to get all new glasses(or even lenses), as it's
just a coating they put on, so maybe yours can be re-coated? (I used to
have the photochromic layer put on mine, too, until my last one had
ethics & wouldn't bill the coating as "frames" so I could get it paid
for (being as I just kept reusing my old frames)
