I watch all the Braves games, and I certainly haven't gotten that impression.
They mention a number candidates all the time. I've never even heard them
call Neagle a favorite, let alone a "walk over."

He's allowed a ton of unearned runs, though, whereas Maddux has allowed only
one. That doesn't necessarily mean the Braves have that much of a better
defense, but it does mean that Maddux can pitch around errors. RA is much
more important to a team than ERA.
