Some craziness touched many in the USSR of the late 1930s. The country
lived in isolation and fought for survival. In this situation millions
of people started to see enemies, spies, payed saboteurs around
themselves, and they wrote millions of reports to the state security
organs. It was paranoia, not a political repressions as many say now.
Those millions, who wrote the reports were as much guilty as Stalin and
his people.

When thousands of people are groundlessly accused that they are spies it
is not a political repressions. I don't like Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
because his novels are rather like a black humor, but he was unable to
diagnose the situation correctly.

TR> Thats right out of Pravda! You been reading Marx and Lenin again?

Pravda did't write about paranoia in the USSR. It was a part of it. ;-)

You forgot to add ...in case of the US aggression. Probably it was
forgotten not by you, but the unbiassed US media. :)

PS: I don't like the situation in NK.

Bye, Tim!
