I just got a deal at Frye's on a WD Caviar 250 gb drive for 79.99.
Hopefully it will last a year till the new changes in storage technology
kick in.  I formatted it NTFS so those DVD copies will copy over nicely.
Put it in an external USB 2.0 case so the movies can travel around with me.
