-> If someone uses an image of mine on a poster advertising a Church supper - I -> cold care less. Someone uses my image in a National Advertising campaine for -> Revlon cosmetics -- I WOULD care - big time! Recently another photographer in my guild hung, and sold, a picture that rather fascinated me. It was just a picture of an interesting ceiling corner, with the light playing in the shadows. It was mainly in shades of yellow and I'd never seen such a thing before. Within a week or two, I saw the same sort of picture on PhotoSig and I stopped to stare at it. I couldn't remember the various angles in my acquaintance's picture and wondered if it was the same corner. I captured the file. When I told her about it, she asked if she could see it, and I arranged that. She was actually disappointed when she verified that it was not her picture, since, she said, she could get $6,000 for what she called "theft of intellectual property." It was not even the same corner. When I got to see the two side by side, I preferred the one I found, mainly due to the richness of the colours. I can tell you I will be looking up far more often in the future.
