Hi Ed,
EG> I'm not that impressed with Neagle. Neagle's ERA has been a lot better
but
EG> earlier in the season, he was being bailed out by Atlanta's offense.
EG>
Nealgle is ok, but, thank God for a good offense in Atlanta, or his record
would be much lower.
EG> Martinez' ERA has gone up recently and those writers may look at his
6-7
EG> record and wonder why he's *only* 16-7. That's not to say that he's any
EG> good but the perceptions haven't changed in years. I don't think that a
EG> lot of those writers even bother looking at run support and blown saves
EG> to understand why a pitcher with that low of an era is 16-7 instead of
EG> 20-3 (What his record *could* be if he was given the *average* run
EG> support that his team has gotten for all pitchers).
No kidding, most of his losses have either been 2-1 or 1-0 losses.
As for Pedro's ERA going up recently, that is true, he lost one game 2-1
(that
raised his ERA) and the got smoked by the rookie catcher in Philly.
