 The 1278 can support packet data so it should work with nearly any data
terminal controlling software Russ.
 I had the MFJ-1270 TNC at one time and ran it using my KPC-3 software and 
Telix for DOS as the controller software.
 I found that the KPC-3 Kantronics software actually worked the 1270 better
than the MFJCOM program it came with and was easier to use.
