CS>> Malasia as well. Singapore, I find boring and expensive.
BF>> Oh, so we shouldn't go there?

CS> Well, It depends on what you are looking for. I've been told tha
CS> India' is more my style so next time I'll try there.

BF> What is Little India?

Well, I've never been there but it's a small area of Singapore with lots of
¨India style crafts and foods. Supposed to have my type of open air
shopping ¨too.

Here's another place off the beaten path. Pohang Korea. Has a wonderful
¨outdoor mall, tarp covered. You can wander for 2 days and still not see
it ¨all. Good prices. You just have to be accepting of the fact that dogs
are ¨food there as you will find dog legs at the food part sometimes.
You'll also ¨find durian stalls (I love durian!).

CS> centers are like stateside ones (big stores, brand names, brand name
CS> prices). They have a zoo but it's nothing all that great (other places
CS> are better, England has a better one for example by far).

BF> OK. We'll skip Singapore then.

I go there pretty often due to ship work. They have a big shipyard and a
trade ¨deal to do lots of work for 'cheap' so it saves money to pull us in
there as a ¨liberty port and have work done at the same time. Lagging and
such. Lagging ¨is insulation stuff for pipes that otherwise drip from
condensation.

CS> Contrast this with Hong Kong. Hong Kong has it all.

BF> It's too far to Hong Kong.

Really? Seems it wouldnt matter when getting all the way from where you
are. ¨Could be the price of a ticket from where you are to there is high
but I bet if ¨you check prices in Bangkok, you'll find it cheap to get from
Bangkok to Hong ¨Kong. If you can find a 3 day, 2 night package, it would
be lots of fun!

Oh, hope riding water ferries is something you like. Thats how you get
from ¨one side to the other. They have really nice ones at about 1$ a ride
if memory ¨serves? I think they have an underwater trolley too but I've
taken the boats ¨as they are more fun.

BF>> Perhaps it's better to go to Malasia then.

CS> Ohh I'd love to go there! I havent yet and may never get to before we
CS> leave. I hear from a friend (Glenn in COOKING) that it's a great place!

BF> Have to contact him and hear where he lives. Perhaps we could visit hi

He lives in Australia but travels a lot. He's in Malaysia now I think? He
¨just made a note in Asian_link about it. Short stopover in Singapore so
you ¨can ask him how he likes Singapore too. Me, I dont care for Singapore
but ¨others do. Kinda like 'nice place to live but wouldnt want to pay to
visit ¨there' is my assessment.

CS> Oh, back in. A typhoon drove us back to Sasebo to wait it out.
CS> north of us (where we were supposed to be). I'm only in for a few days.

BF> We've had small hurricanes here too now, lifting barns and trailers.

This one seems to have calmed down a bit but it's too late to get us back
up ¨north for the stuff we had planned. Oh well.
