subject: How Australia sees the US

Hello Alexander,

LL>> If it was not for the US, the world would not be free.

ak> Freedom and democracy in the US would not be possible without fear of
ak> the USSR's Communism. ;-) It helped the Americans to curb the wild
ak> capitalism and a half-slave labor. So it was the USSR who formed the
ak> landscape in the 20th century.

And what about the 21st century? Will there be a dominant country
or set of countries that rule the planet, like the British empire of
long ago? Or will the world fragment into smaller parts, with no
empires of any kind?

Economic systems, such as capitalism and socialism, are different
forms of feudalism. Different sides of the same coin. It would
be impossible to have a pure strain of capitalism, just as it would
to have a pure strain of socialism.

Can there be any other system? Sure. The Romans did. And their
civilization lasted hundreds of years. This predated feudalism,
but collapsed when it could no longer be sustained. But historians
are still trying to figure things out, as to what happened. Did
Rome collapse due to invasion? Natural catastrophe? Nobody really
knows.

History changes quickly, not slowly over millenia. When you see
Planet X in the night time sky, and the world about to come to an
end, remember you read it here first.
