The concordance in one of my bibles shows denarius/denarii in
Matthew 22:2 and Mark 12:15. I haven't checked other
translations.

Matthew was a tax collector for the Romans, and so his gospel may
have been written in Latin. Mark wrote his gospel mainly for
Roman Christians and so his would almost certainly have been
written in Latin. This explains why some translations use the
Roman name for the coin.

Hmmm... I think we're wandering a long way off the topic of this
