If you are doing Delphi 1, you can easily send out to a port using a
small asm routine. There are also some DLLs that allow this. I haven't
tried this in Delphi 2. I beleive windows 95 will let you do calls to
ports as well as DOS Interrupts. A 32 bit app under NT will probably not
let you near the hardware which means you would need to write a special
driver if you can use the Windows API to send your information. If you
are sending to a com port, the API can be used. If you need a hardware
port for some special card or nonstandard device, you are probably out
of luck without creating some type of driver. I don't know if or how
well Delphi supports writting 32 bit drivers.
Hope this helps. Im sure others have some comments on this.
