The problem is that those readers who don't know any better might accept
the FUD and BS without questioning it, so it is sometimes necessary to
point it out when it appears.  If the neighbor's dog shits in your yard,
you don't just let it sit there attracting flies, do you?

That would be nice, but the FUD and BS being spread is the technical
equivalent of "When did you stop beating your wife?", and it's been
going on for so long that there is no longer any point in putting up
a facade of civility.  You know as well as I do that the person(s)
spreading this nonsense are doing so in a very deliberate and methodical
way.   It's veiled in the guise of a "technical discussion", but anyone
with a moderate technical knowledge can plainly see it for what it
really is.
