Ummm...Larry.....Do you happen to remember Fraggle Rock???

August, if you are there....fill him in please. That was probably a
computer generated line, but it sure brought back memories. :)

Good, a list :)
->
-> The lead picture in a world-wide ad campaign for a large corporation is a
-> whole lot more pricy than a picture used on a local Chamber of Commerce
-> brochure, even if it is the same image. In most cases, one sells one-time
-> rights for a specific use. If they want to use it again, it is another fee.
-> In most cases, you simply license the use of the picture.

Okay, good info here :)
->
-> If they want a buy out of all rights, then you start talking much more
-> money, depending upon the picture. If it is a picture of the client's
-> balding 50-something accountant, the difference between one time use and
-> complete buy out may be pretty small. In the case of your best shot in your
-> lifetime - one that has potential for dozens of sales - the price should be
-> staggering.

I have not heard anymore on this yet, but I doubt it will be anything
earthshaking. I just wanted to pick all your brains about what I should be
thinking about and considering so I didn't think afterwards, "Maybe I
should have thought of that."
->
-> Don't be afraid to say "What are you prepared to offer?"

I would expect to hear their bottom dollar if I did that. They wouldn't
offer me anymore than they thought they absolutely had to. This isn't
someone who would necessarily know the going rate either. I think this is
a brand new venture of some sort.

Thanks for the valuable input Larry. I'll be printing this message off for
my files.
