Special message for All! ;-(
I have a query that must be answered before I confront a local neighbor...
I am causing interference to a Sony Play-Station, whilst only on 50Watts @
10meters in SSB mode. Now, I have done every thing in my power to reduce
interference by purchasing TVI filters for the effected Televisions, which
has reduced the interference to nul. However, I still manage to 'crash' or
lock up their Play Station games Console.
The question is...Since the Sony Play Station is made of plastic and has no
chance of suppressing RFI as there is no metal case or any shielding what so
ever, is it therefore the owners responsibility to shield the effected
device?
I am currently forced to use only 10Watts due to this annoying problem, so if
any suggestions can be brought forward or someone can tell me that I have the
right to tell them where to go.
I have checked and double checked my equipment and I don't interfere with any
other neighbor or in fact my own equipment apart from my phones in the house,
but this is due to the fact that they use pre-amps as standard BT
(British Telecom) phones are untouched.
I can't stand it when all the technical knowhow in the world won't cure a
simple RFI problem and believe me...I've tried them all!!!
There is only one thing left that may reduce the interference and that would
be to raise my antenna a little higher as currently it is (at base) 30 foot
which is approx. 10 foot higher than the location of the Play Station. The
most I can raise it to would be 40 foot as this is not my house and it took a
great deal of pursuading to get it where it is.
Cheers in advance.
73, John.
Ciao for now.
