That is what I was figuring, and why I was a *bit* concerned.

Again, you are probably correct. I plan to try this out this week with the
old standby, CONFMAIL. I am on vacation from work as I had one project
finish and the next one is not ready for me yet.

FR> If the message threads get trashed, you can always use Squish to
FR> rebuild them: SQUISH LINK -F

That is not a problem, as I do not follow threads anyhow. I just read the
messages in the order in which they arrive to my system.

FR> I looked around and found this little gem in my BBS archives...

 FR> RNUM.EXE 6,832 10/18/1992 12:32p

FR> When running it from the DOS prompt with no command line paramaters

FR> Program RNUM renumbers the MSG files in a sub-
FR> directory. Just supply the pathspec (of the
FR> directory) on the command line.
 FR> Max msgs = 16384 Highest msg # = 65535.

 FR> Usage: RNUM l:\netmsg
FR> Uses standard DOS: will work with large partitions.

FR> If you want to try it out I can ship it out to you.

I'll send you my internet mail address in a netmail message. Thanks!

If this is where you are now, it must be beautiful. I graduated from high
school a few decades ago in Manchester, NH. The few trips we made into the
White Mountains were great! Never got a chance to camp up there, but maybe
someday.
