Ksp-mail v3.33 is a non-supported shareware product. It provides an
interface between waffle-type uucp e-mail and newsgroups and the equivalent
nntp/smtp formats on the internet.

The un-released version of ksp-mail has many features that make it easier
to use, and is much faster on DNS lookups. So you will want to use IP
addresses for your nntp and your smtp servers at your ISP. You will also
want to locate a nntp server that accepts "NEWNEWS" commands. I
have one in Germany, but it is read-only... which requires batch file work
arrounds so that outbound is posted on your local isp news server and then
a different configuration file is copied in and kspmail started again to
"get the news" :)

It can be configured to work under Window95 with an ethernet adaptor using
a virtual driver that costs $15US (I had it setup via a Cablenetwork
modem). It can be configured under ms-dos with the FTP Software packet
driver (for ethernet). And it can be used in conjunction with the uka_ppp
setup on a dialup ppp connection. If you don't want to use uka_ppp, the
epppd.com packet driver package is what you need.

I was given the registration code(s) necessary to make ksp-mail 3.33 (and
probably 2.xx) functional.

You pretty much need a static IP address to use this, until someone comes
up with a ms-dos client to update the ml.org dynamic ip dns server. I have
worked out everything necessary to have ksp-mail run intermittently except
the ml.org dynamic ip client. I can even get it to exit like a fido-net
mailer.... :) So it is feasible to use one pc....

Netmail me if you want a copy of the registration code.

                                                Tom
