For that kind of money you should be able to pick up an 800 or 900 series 
head. I like the 900's myself because they have reverb.  Be sure to get one 
with EL34's in it, because the ones that use the 5881's suck big time.  
'Course you'll need another $500 to pick up a 4x12 cab for it!
