| subject: | RE: EleBBS: EleBBS with EleServ and Events question ... |
* EleBBS Support List Hi Mike, > NetSerial is my product, and there is a special price of $25 for BBS > sysops, and extended evaluation keys are available by request for free. I tried requesting a download but my hotmail account is not accepted. I pay for this hotmail account 69$ a year and this is the only email account I have. I would love to try it out. I imagine it to work something like this (I have not tried nor read the manual so please correct me when I am wrong): It creates virtual com ports. Lets say I need 5 nodes so it could create 5 virtual com ports. I have no physical Modem installed on my computer. I would launch EleBBS.EXE for each node (total of 5 instances) using these 5 virtual com ports. So each instance would be Waiting for call (WFC). Then the Telnet connection gets forwarded to a free virtual com port and the elebbs node linked to that com port picks up. Does it work like that? And if it does that would completely take care of my and Erichs problem and we would be able to use the events. Virtual com ports would make it possible for us to use ELEBBS.EXE and avoid EleServ completely which ignores events. Thanks again Mike ...
