GM> What are you looking to do?

GM> I work for a record company, and we deal with streaming
GM> media on a daily basis, in Windows Media, Real, and
 GM> Quicktime.

I have been listening to streaming media for a long time. Mostly
I get news programs from wrn.org... the World radio network.
Their programs, a lot of them, are available for download and
listening to on an MP3 player. I usually write them to a CDRW, a
mini one, and play them during breaks at work.

I used to use Cute FTP for my downloads, but they changed it and
it's harder to use now. I have also used Streambox VCR, but I
have been looking for a new system.

In the past I have heard of replay radio, as a recommended
program. So, looking into it, it was moderately expensive, but
looked nice. However, there are several levels and options, and
it gets kinda expensive if you want to do it up right. One of
the things they have is Windows media recorder. WMrecorder. They
also had a program called Real Media recorder, but WMRecorder
now does both. I downloaded the trial versions of both.

Well... in trying it out, I got the feeling RMRecorder seemed to
feel a lot like the old Streambox VCR. I peeked at a dump of the
program, and got an impression of a lot of similarity.

Now, I haven't done any serious programming in years, and my
programming languages stopped with Fortran and Basic... though I
did compile. Still do now and then. But that was just the
feeling I got. I was looking for someone playing with this who
might be able to evaluate my thoughts on this.

Oh, I did buy Magix radio recorder, for about $15. Heavily
discounted. Just learning to use it now, and testing it out.
Seems a bit overcomplicated, but seems to work. I'll see how it
 does for the schedualer.

Anyway, that's what I'm looking for.

BTW, I prefer MP3. Don't care for proprietary type stuff they
try to tie to one system.

 GM> Resent per your request.

 Thanks.
