'cos it implys that you have some idea of what your are talking about, but not competent enough to fix the fault.. ergo, the repairer will assume you "know" it's gunna be a "difficult" part to isolate (else you would've found it yourself), and you'll be charged accordingly.. even though it may be a 'stock' fault and could be fixed in a matter of minutes.
